The Department of Parks, Recreation & Cemetery provides operations, programs and maintenance relative to parks, recreation, cemetery, forestry and more.
Specifically, this office is responsible for the coordination and support for special events, Hope Cemetery management, maintenance and management of the City's sixty plus parks, playgrounds, beaches and summer recreation programs. Parks & Recreation is also in charge of the maintenance and management of the City's urban forests through trimming, clean up of storm damage, condemned tree removals, contracted forestry services and tree plantings.
The Department of Parks, Recreation & Cemetery also provides staff and technical support to the Parks and Recreation Commission, Hope Cemetery Commission and the Urban Forestry Tree Commission.
The Parks Department offers opportunities for young people to serve the community and obtain employment at various levels, from supervisory to staff. Positions include Aquatics and Green Hill Golf Course Staff, Parks Stewards, Seasonal Maintenance Temporary Laborers and more. Worcester Common Oval
The Worcester Common is located in the core of the City and home to a number of popular events such as the Out to Lunch Festival and Farmers' Market, Skating on the Oval, Movies on the Common, annual festivals, outdoor activities and more.

Green Hill Golf Course

The City of Worcester maintains and manages a par 72, 18-hole municipal golf course. City residents and non-City residents alike can enjoy an exciting and challenging round of golf along with industry standard amenities and services including golf skill training classes, events and Worcester's only driving range!
Green Hill Park Farm

The Green Hill Park Farm is home to various gentle farm animals and is a great place for families with children looking for a leisurely activity on a nice day. The farm is open year round and is located within Green Hill Park. The farm is free of charge and open to the public.

Beaches, Pools & Spray Parks
The City of Worcester has made significant investment into its parks, playgrounds, pools and beaches in recent years, highlighted by the spray park at Cristoforo Colombo/East Park.

Nature Trails
The City of Worcester is blessed with an abundance of park lands! Many of Worcester's public parks offer residents and visitors a wealth of activities, including nature trails to explore and get out and enjoy nature.
