City Clerk Permits

The City Clerk's Office offers various permits for the public, including Bazaar/Raffle Permits, Auction Permits and Going Out of Business Sale Permits.

Bazaar/Raffle Permit ($10)

If you are holding a raffle in the City of Worcester and you have been a non-profit for more than two (2) years, please reach out to our office for the application either by email at clerk@worcesterma.gov or by calling 508-799-1121.

The fee is $10: check or money order payable to "City of Worcester" and the processing time is 7-10 business days.

• The permit is valid for one (1) calendar year from the date of issue.
• If you are interested in a Texas Hold'Em or Casino Night, you would first have to have a valid raffle permit before you request this application.

Auction Permit ($25/Day)

If you are holding an Auction in the City of Worcester please have your auctioneer fill out the Auction Permit Application with your $25.00 check or money order made out to "City of Worcester" and either drop off or mail to:

Going Out of Business Sale ($1,000)

To be filed in the Office of the City Clerk at least three days prior to the opening date of sale, removal sales and termination sales.

1. A complete and detailed inventory in two parts signed by the owner under the penalties of perjury
1. ALL items in the place of business at the start of the sale
2. Separate listing of items included in "a" above, which have been purchased within 60 days of filing the inventory. (Filing fee is $8.00 per page of inventory.)
2. A bond in the sum of $1,000.00 conditioned upon compliance with the law governing this type of sale (M.G.L. c. 93, sec. 28A), approved by the Corporation Counsel.
3. Letter stating opening and closing dates of sale. The final date of the sale shall not be more than 60 days from the opening date of the sale.
