Newton Hill Disc Golf
The City's only public disc-golf course was opened in 2009 in Elm Park's Newton Hill section. The course is a full 18 hole, par 58 course that has players travel up and down the hill, enjoying a fun and free round of excitement. The course is maintained by local players and volunteers, and parking as available in the Doherty High School parking lot.
Recreation Worcester
Recreation Worcester is a free year-round out-of-school time program run by the City of Worcester. Through these after-school programs, students will have the opportunity to engage with program staff and community partners and take part in enriching, athletic, artistic and academic programming. By enhancing these community partnerships through programming, Recreation Worcester aims to develop long-term between youth and community leaders through mentorship.
Summer Fitness Series
The Worcester Parks Summer Fitness Series is a multi-week program presented by the City of Worcester Department of Health & Human Services and Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA in partnership with the YWCA Central Massachusetts and YMCA of Central Massachusetts. The program typically runs from June through August, Mondays through Saturdays at various city parks. Classes range from Zumba to sports skills training to HIIT and Yoga, all family-friendly.
The goal of this program is to provide Worcester residents with opportunities to engage in healthy eating, active living, community building and spending the summer becoming a healthier Worcester. We hope to see you there!
