The Worcester Police Alcohol Enforcement Unit will be enhancing its efforts to prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors and the purchase and consumption of alcoholic beverages to minors by conducting a number of programs over the course of the next year.
Preparations Underway for St. Patrick’s Parade

Worcester police are preparing for the annual Worcester County St. Patrick’s Parade and Guinness Celtic 5K road race which is scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023. Worcester police would like to advise the public that there will be a number of detours on Sunday, to accommodate the events.
Can I recycle pizza boxes?
You can put your EMPTY pizza box in the recycling bin. Grease is okay. This includes pizza boxes (with the exception of frozen pizza boxes) made out of cardboard or box board (think cereal box) as long as they are empty. Helpful suggestion: fold the box inside-out before you put it in the recycling. This will make sure that the box is completely empty so there are no surprises at the sorting facility.
Liners and pizza savers (pizza tables) go in the trash. Leftover food should be composted or put in the trash.
Police Quickly Apprehend Man Breaking into Business on Main Street

On March 2, 2023, at approximately 6:51 AM officers were dispatched to 927 Main Street for a possible break-in at a business. Upon arrival, officers noticed a broken window and the door was unlocked.

NRT Officers Recover Large Amounts of Crack Cocaine, Fentanyl and a Handgun

On February 22, 2023, at approximately 10 PM the Worcester Police Neighborhood Response Team was working in the vicinity of the 800 block of Main Street. NRT officers observed a drug transaction take place between a male later identified as Noel Gonzalez and two other individuals.
