On Thursday, February 2, 2023 at approximately 3:10 AM Worcester police were dispatched to Paradox Drive for a report of a male breaking into vehicles. A resident called police and had video of the suspect rummaging through her vehicle. The caller didn’t have valuables in the vehicle.

On January 28th 2023 at about 9:35 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a Merrifield St address for a report of a gunshot victim.

Our department sends our prayers and support to the friends and family of Tyre Nichols. The death of Tyre Nichols at the hands of Memphis police officers is appalling and indefensible.

On January 25th 2023 at about 3:05 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the 7-11 at 409 Park Ave for a report of an unarmed robbery.

On January 22nd 2023 at about 11:20 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a Perry Ave address for a dispute. Officers received information that two males, identified as Hector Castillo, twenty-two-years-old of Pioneer Rd, and John Fox, thirty-five-years-old of Pioneer Rd, were threatening a resident because they wanted to take over his apartment.

On January 21st 2023 at about 1:25 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a North St address for a report of a business dispute that resulted in someone being struck with a firearm.

On January 19th 2023, the Worcester Police Neighborhood Response Team enforced drug laws in the area of Lafayette St.

On January 17, 2023 police arrested Javier Pena, 39, of 37 Providence Street, Worcester. He was charged with Improperly Storing a Firearm, Assault and Battery with a Firearm, Armed Assault and Battery by a Firearm, Aggravated Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon with Serious Bodily Injury, Armed Assault to Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License x 2, Carrying a Firearm without a License, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.

On January 15th 2023 at about 11:15 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 925 Main St for a report of a gunshot victim.
