WPD Officers Respond to South High for a Report of a Weapon

On February 17th 2023 at about 1 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to South High School for a report of a student with a gun. Upon arrival, officers located the student, who was in the school’s main office. School staff had secured his backpack, which they believe contained a loaded firearm.
Officers inspected the weapon, which was a realistic pistol replica pellet gun, which is illegal to possess on school grounds. Officers confiscated the weapon and the student will be issued a criminal summons.
