Abandoned Vehicles

Identification

  • Upon notification of a potentially abandoned vehicle, Worcester Parking Control Officers visit all reported locations to determine validity of report. This includes both public and private streets and any City-owned property.
  • When a vehicle is "deemed to be abandoned" it will be green-tagged and scheduled for removal.

I'm selling my property. What inspection do I need before closing?

State law requires that residential buildings be equipped with approved smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms. To schedule an appointment and to ensure that the life safety devices are properly located, please contact the Fire Prevention Division at 508-799-1822 or send an email to: prevention@worcesterma.gov. Also, please note that State Law requires that every building have its address number affixed to the building and is visible from the roadway.

Animal Control

The Animal Control section is responsible for enforcing local ordinances, state statutes and regulations related to: unlicensed dogs; leash law violations; unvaccinated animals; animal bite quarantine; and all animal complaints from citizens as well as formal complaints received through the Office of the Chief of Police.
