The Worcester Police Department became aware on Friday, April 3rd, of a planned event through a social media post advertising a Street Takeover scheduled for Saturday April 4th, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday April 3, 2026, Detectives from the Worcester Police Department Detective Bureau, Unresolved Homicide Unit, Crime Gun Unit and Gang Unit with assistance from the Worcester Police Department EOP Unit, arrested 26-year-old Juan Ruiz, on a warrant, charging him with murder.
Addressing
New addresses and unit numbering are now assigned during the building permit process. The Street Number or Change of Address (SNCA) application will now only be used for changing the address of buildings.
