Worcester Police Department

The Worcester Police Department became aware on Friday, April 3rd, of a planned event through a social media post advertising a Street Takeover scheduled for Saturday April 4th, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

Our primary concern upon learning of this post was public safety. Events promoted in this manner can attract a large and unpredictable crowd. We owe it to the visitors, employees, business owners, and the residents of Worcester to ensure that public safety is paramount.

Being prepared and having a proactive plan in place is essential to preventing and minimizing potential risks. In response, we have coordinated staffing, developed a comprehensive operational plan, and are working closely with our law enforcement partners to ensure we have the appropriate resources in place.

We will continue to monitor information related to events of this nature and respond accordingly to protect our community.
