The Worcester Consumer Rights Program (WCRP) is a local consumer program (LCP) that offers mediation service in cooperation with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office (AGO). The service is available to consumers in Worcester and surrounding towns. The purpose of the Worcester Consumer Rights Program is to provide amicable mediation to consumers who are involved in a dispute or have a complaint against a business that is licensed to operate in Massachusetts. The program is voluntary and does not carry any cost to either the consumer or business. You may call us at the Worcester Senior Center: 508-799-1232 X48018.
Types of common complaints that we handle:
- Car Sales & Financing
- Consumer Fraud
- Debt Collection
- Defective Products
- Home Improvement Contracts
- Identity Theft
- Telemarketing Fraud
- Utility Bills
You can also file a complaint to report unfair and deceptive advertising or commercial practice under the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act - 93A.
Consumer Tip:
When you travel, especially outside the country, consider these suggestions to stay safe: Keep a list of your credit card numbers and phone numbers in a separate place from your credit cards. Put your money and valuables (including passports) in more than one place on your person. Use a fanny pack under your clothing instead of one that opens from behind you. Stay aware of your surroundings.
The Worcester Consumer Rights Program will be recognizing this year’s National Consumer Protection Week with the following events:
- Worcester Consumer Rights Program - Scam Prevention Seminar - Tuesday, March 3 at 1 p.m.
- Worcester Consumer Rights Program - Consumer Protection - Thursday, March 5 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
- Friday, March 6 – The Worcester Consumer Rights Program will join two other local consumer programs for an interview by Quincy’s community television station (QATV). We will discuss consumer tips and how the local consumer program works. This interview will be recorded and will be made available at a later date.

Consumer Advisory - Crisis Pregnancy Centers
If you are pregnant and looking to understand your abortion options, consult with a licensed reproductive healthcare provider. CPCs do not provide abortion care, and the information presented to you at these facilities about your options is often misleading and inaccurate. Learn more about these misleading CPCs from the Mass.gov resources below.
