The Providence Street Playground has been a city park since 2010. It features a new playground, which is split into two sections. One side is focused on younger kids, while the other side is geared toward older kids. It also contains Glodis Field, a multipurpose turf field named after the late State Rep. William J. Glodis.

Artificial Turf Structure at Glodis Field Seen Through a Fence

Located adjacent to the Providence Street School is this recently renovated artificial turf multi-use athletic field. Glodis Field is constantly used by the neighborhood community as well as the school. Parking is available on the site and plenty of on-street parking is also available, except during school hours. Come by and try playing lacrosse, football, soccer or other field sports on this amazing play surface!

Morgan Landing

At Morgan Landing, you can launch a boat, motorized or non-motorized. You can also enjoy the other amenities this lake-focused park has to offer. Such amenities include a picnic area, tennis court, fishing dock and small walking path. This park has one of the only boat ramps in Worcester.

Rockwood Field

Rockwood Field is located right next door to Worcester State University on Chandler Street. George I. Rockwood donated the land that now makes up Rockwood Field to the City of Worcester in 1940 with the intention to create an area that would be placed under the Parks and Recreation Department.

Korean War Statues of Soldiers and American Flags

Korean War Memorial

District: 2

The Korean War Memorial on Worcester Center Boulevard near Washington Station honors the many men who died in the Korean War. A bronze statue of a Korea-era American GI and a Korean child was added later, along with educational signs, additional flagpoles and a Walkway of Honor.
