Man Caught Breaking into Cars on Paradox Drive

On Thursday, February 2, 2023 at approximately 3:10 AM Worcester police were dispatched to Paradox Drive for a report of a male breaking into vehicles. A resident called police and had video of the suspect rummaging through her vehicle. The caller didn’t have valuables in the vehicle. The suspect ransacked the vehicle but nothing was missing. As police arrived in the area, they spotted a male matching the description of the suspect. The suspect was in possession of a wallet and debit card belonging to a resident who lived a couple of houses down from the original caller. Police went to the victim’s house and found that her car had been broken into. She was missing her wallet and debit card which she had stored in her glove compartment. Officers returned the items.
Erick Schnare, 34 of 24 Eden Street, Worcester was charged with breaking into depository and receiving stolen property.
The Worcester Police Department would like to remind residents to take preventative measures: lock your doors, remove or hide any valuables, secure your property, completely close your windows, park in well-lit areas, avoid parking between large vehicles, install an audible alarm, and park in attended lots.
