Senior Center Programs

The Worcester Senior Center is a bright and welcoming place for all seniors, their families and caregivers, elder service providers and the community at large.

The Senior Center has received a lot of attention and external funding in recent years focusing on modernization and making its operations more sustainable. The following work has been upgraded:

  • The FitLot, a new state-of-the-art intergenerational outdoor fitness park
  • Installed new windows, new hallway carpets and painted all of the common areas
  • Interior lighting upgrades to energy efficient LEDs
  • Installation of a rain garden (receiving building roof stormwater runoff) and an underground stormwater management system
  • Refurbished rooms in the Nurses Building to create a new Fitness Center on the 1st floor and a new Activity Room on the 2nd floor
  • Solar parking canopy
  • Installation of solar thermal panels on the Lunch Room roof to offset hot water heating
