Project Overview
The project will improve the design and traffic control for Chandler Street in the vicinity of the Worcester State University campus. The proposed work includes the construction of two modern roundabouts at the northern and southern intersections of May Street and Chandler Street with the addition of median islands, curbing and landscaping/hardscaping. The project will also include upgraded pedestrian, transit and cycling accommodations.

Design Public Hearing
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) held a Live Virtual Design Public Hearing on Project File No. 608961, Intersection Improvements on Chandler Street and May Street, on June 15 at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the hearing was to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Intersection Improvements on Chandler Street and May Street project and provide comment on the changes proposed.
