WPD Vice Squad Officers Arrest Man for Warrant, Fentanyl Trafficking

On May 28th, 2025, at about 6:55 PM, Worcester Police Vice Squad officers were conducting surveillance in the area of Eastern Ave when they observed a male, fifty-four-year-old Carlos Torres, who they knew had an active arrest warrant. Officers approached Mr. Torres, who ran on foot across Shelby St and threw items on the ground as he ran. Officers eventually caught up to Mr. Torres and attempted to handcuff him. Mr. Torres was resisting but officers were eventually able to get his hands behind his back.
Officers retraced the path of their foot pursuit and located a black case with bags of what appeared to be fentanyl powder, crack cocaine, and fentanyl pills. Mr. Torres was charged with his warrant, Trafficking in a Class A Substance 18-36 Grams, Possession of a Class B Substance, and Resisting Arrest.
