Worcester Police Department

On September 29, 2026, the Worcester Police Department’s Vice Detectives were in possession of a search warrant for an apartment on Mott Street.  The target of the warrant was forty-three-year-old Juan Vargas.  During surveillance, Vargas was observed leaving the target address.  He was stopped a short distance away on Barclay St.  He was informed of the search warrant for the apartment. Detectives recovered three individual knotted bags of cocaine inside of the cross-shoulder bag that Vargas was wearing. 

Vice Detectives along with WPD K-9 and EOP officers then approached the residence.  They entered the building through an open common door and proceeded to the second-floor apartment.  After knocking and announcing and receiving no response, forced entry was made into the apartment.  Inside a bedroom, Detectives located a male identified as forty-four-year-old Kola Anjorin. 

A subsequent search of Vargas’ bedroom revealed approximately 40 grams of cocaine packaged for sale, a large quantity of marijuana packaged for sale, suspected psychedelic mushrooms packaged for sale, and drug packaging and processing materials. 

A search of Anjorin’s bedroom revealed numerous pressed fentanyl pills packaged for sale, drug processing and packaging materials, and an AR style large capacity handgun loaded with a 30-round magazine.  The firearm did not have any visible serial numbers and appears to be a ghost gun.  Anjorin does not possess a license to carry a firearm or an FID.   

Vargas was arrested and is being charged with Trafficking in Cocaine 36-99 grams.  Anjorin was arrested and is being charged with possession to Distribute Class A (Fentanyl pills), Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a large Capacity Feeding Device.
