WPD Vice Detectives Arrest Male on Drug Trafficking Charges

On April 29, 2026, Vice Detectives were in possession of search warrants for an apartment on Hamilton Street as well as a Silver Nissan Rogue. The named target of the warrant was twenty-five-year-old John Diaz. At approximately 1:30 p.m., Diaz was observed exiting the building accompanied by his girlfriend. Vice Detectives approached the two as they were walking towards the Nissan Rogue to detain them and execute the warrants. As Diaz was detained, he began yelling up to the target apartment multiple times to notify the occupants of our presence.
Vice Detectives made entry into the apartment and located two females and a male inside. After he was read his Miranda rights, Diaz directed Detectives to a safe in his room and stated that he had cocaine inside. Detectives opened the safe with keys seized from Diaz and recovered approximately 38 grams of cocaine, 3 grams of fentanyl, pills, and a digital scale. Used packaging material and drug processing equipment were also recovered. Diaz was arrested and is being charged with Trafficking Cocaine 36-99 grams, Possession to Distribute Class A (Fentanyl) and Possession to Distribute Class B (Adderall pills).
