WPD Officers Make Quick Arrest after Shots Fired on Oxford St

On February 5th 2023 at about 4:45 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of Oxford St for a ShotSpotter activation. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence that shots had been fired.
As they were checking the area for suspects or victims, they located a male, identified as Jesus Torres, thirty-six-years-old of Branch St, standing on the porch of a residence. Officers determined that Mr. Torres did not live at the residence, which was posted with “No Trespassing” signs. They located a loaded handgun near where Mr. Torres was standing, and he does not have a license to carry firearms.
Mr. Torres was placed under arrest and is charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card, Trespass, and an outstanding warrant.
