WPD Officers Arrest Man for Overnight Commercial Break

On October 23rd, 2024, at about 2:50 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Hanover Insurance at 440 Lincoln St for a report of a commercial break. Upon arrival, officers saw security officers pointing out a male, identified as thirty-four-year-old William Cruz, who was trying to leave the area. Officers ordered Mr. Cruz to stop running and detained him while they investigated further.
Officers located a broken glass door that appeared to have been recently smashed. Officers recovered a hammer and Hanover Insurance bag from Mr. Cruz. They arrested Mr. Cruz and charged him with Breaking and Entering at Night, Possession of Burglarious Instruments, and Vandalism.
