WPD Officers Arrest Male with Illegal Gun, Large Amount of Drugs

On May 30, 2025, at approximately 1:55 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Pleasant Street for a report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, officers noticed a male matching the description given on Main Street.
The male noticed officers and started to run through Worcester Common. He had his firearm drawn as officers pursued him. He excited the Common and ran across Franklin Street. He fell several times during the pursuit. While he was on the ground, he threw the gun onto the street. Officers then placed him in handcuffs.
Officers searched the male, identified as thirty-nine-year-old Gilbert Morin of Worcester, and found a plastic bag containing a large amount of suspected crack cocaine on his person. An investigation also determined that Morin did not have a license to carry.
Morin is charged with Unlawful Carry of a Firearm, Unlawful Carry of a Loaded Firearm, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute.
