Worcester Police Department

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on August 10, 2026, Worcester Police officers stopped a vehicle on Harrison Street with cancelled license plates. The male operator and male passenger were told to exit the vehicle. 

Officers located a knotted plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine, in plain view on the driver’s side floorboard.  Officers conducted a search of the passenger, later identified as thirty-four-year-old Abdulkarim Mbarushimana of Worcester, and discovered five more knotted baggies of suspected cocaine on his person. 

Mr. Mbarushimana was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug. The operator was arrested for Possession of a Class B Drug and several motor vehicle offenses.
