On June 18, 2025, at approximately 3:00 AM, Worcester Police officers observed an operator fail to stop at two stop signs on Lamartine Street. The officers pulled over the operator, later identified as forty-five-year-old Osbert Ventura of North Brookfield.
Ventura and a passenger kept reaching around concealed areas and refused multiple requests to keep their hands visible. Officers also observed a fanny pack around Ventura’s ankle which he was attempting to conceal. Concerned for their safety, officers ordered both men from the vehicle.
Officers removed the fanny pack from the vehicle and found a semi-automatic firearm and two small containers containing a substance which appeared to be fentanyl. A search of the vehicle uncovered a number of controlled substances. The Crime Scene Unit arrived on scene to process the firearm, which was found to be loaded. Since no weapons or contraband were found on the passenger, he was free to leave.
Ventura is charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, distribution of a class C substance (x3) and trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl.
