Worcester Police Deparment

On May 14, 2025, at approximately 8:47 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a call for an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on Bancroft Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male bleeding from his chin. Officers helped to stop the bleeding. The victim was alert and conscious before he was transported to the hospital. 

The victim told officers that he picked up a male in Westborough and transported him to Worcester. When he requested the cab fare, the male struck him with a sharp object. The cab driver said the male ran from the scene. A short time later, the suspect was found on a green bicycle on Bluff Street. An investigation determined that he had stolen the bicycle.

Forty-one-year-old Daniel Burrows is charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Larceny, Trespassing and Providing False Information.
