WPD Officers Arrest Male for Armed Robbery

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 8/6/2025 3:46 pm

On August 5, 2025, at approximately 7:38 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a liquor store on SW Cutoff for a reported armed robbery. 

The victim told officers that the suspect asked him for some merchandise and then asked for a bag. As the victim turned his back, the suspect pulled out a handgun. 

Officers quickly found the suspect, thirty-six-year-old Liam Chagnon of Worcester, on Greenwood Street. Chagnon was placed under arrest for armed robbery. The victim was not injured. The Worcester Police Detective Bureau is investigating.
