WPD Officers Arrest Male for Armed Robbery

On May 3, 2025, at approximately 4:39 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Southbridge Street for a report of an armed robbery. The victim told officers he was robbed at gunpoint for a pair of Jordan sneakers and a small amount of cash.
The victim gave a detailed description of the suspect. A short time later, a male matching that description was found on Front Street. As soon as he saw the officers, he threw an iPhone down into the grass and began walking away.
The male was stopped by officers and identified as twenty-three-year-old Devondre Cooper of Worcester. A positive identification was made on the suspect. Cooper was placed under arrest and charged with armed robbery and larceny from a person.
