WPD Neighborhood Response Team Officers Arrest Two Males for Distributing Crack Cocaine

At approximately 11:00 AM on August 27, 2025, officers assigned to the Neighborhood Response Team observed a drug transaction in the area of Chandler Street.
The two males observed dealing the drugs were later found on the corner of Main Street and Ionic Avenue. One of the males, identified as twenty-one-year-old Adonny Aviles, ran from officers. They were able to stop him and place him in handcuffs. A large amount of crack cocaine was found on his person. The second suspect, fifty-five-year-old Jose Diaz, was observed throwing drugs under a parked vehicle, which officers recovered. The drugs weighed 18.5 grams which is considered trafficking weight.
Aviles and Diaz are charged with Trafficking in Class B 18-36 Grams, Possession to Distribute Class B (Subsequent) and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws. The male buyer was stopped, and officers recovered a baggie of crack cocaine. He was summoned to court.
