WPD Neighborhood Response Team Makes Early Morning Fentanyl Arrest

On April 25th, 2025, officers assigned to the Neighborhood Response Team were on patrol on Main St starting at 4 AM. At about 5:45 AM, they observed a large group congregating around a property with a “No Trespassing” sign. Officers approached the group and determined that they had no valid reason to be on the property. One male, identified as twenty-nine-year-old Calvin Perez of Oread St, had a knife and disregarded officers’ orders to show his hands.
Officers detained Mr. Perez and removed the knife. They also located individually wrapped bags of what appeared to be fentanyl and individually wrapped bags of what appeared to be crack cocaine. Mr. Perez was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute (2nd or subsequent offense), Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute (2nd or subsequent offense), and Trespass.
