WPD Detectives Arrest Two on Illegal Gun and Drug Trafficking Charges

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 2/6/2026 12:41 pm

On February 5, 2026, Vice Detectives along with Detectives from the Gang and Crime Gun Intelligence Unit were conducting surveillance at a residence on Fairfax Road.  Detectives were aware that thirty-three-year-old Timothy Campbell was residing there.  Campbell had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest for drug offenses and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

At approximately 5 p.m., Vice Detectives observed Campbell exit the apartment accompanied by a female, identified as thirty-four-year-old Mary Swenson.  Detectives approached Campbell and placed him under arrest for his warrants. Suspected crack cocaine was found on his person. Detectives recovered additional rocks of crack cocaine on Swenson.

After he was read his Miranda rights, Campbell was evasive in his answers and denied any connection to his apartment.  He also had a set of house keys that he denied were for the apartment, which later were used to unlock its door.  As a result of the above and the totality of the investigation, Vice Detectives applied for a search warrant for the apartment.

Once the search warrant was signed, Vice Detectives executed a thorough search of the apartment.  During the search, Detectives recovered a large amount substances suspected to be cocaine and crystal meth in numerous knotted bags.  The total weight of the cocaine and crystal meth was approximately 800 grams.  Approximately 24 grams of Fentanyl was also recovered.

Detectives also located a large capacity firearm with defaced serial number along with a large amount (total of approximately 800 grams) of white crystal and powder substance in multiple bags of various sizes. Some of these items were field tested and tested positive for meth and cocaine.  Detectives also recovered counterfeit Adderall pills, drug packaging and processing materials.  A check revealed that Campbell and Swanson do not possess an FID or License to Carry. The Crime Scene Unit safely recovered the firearm.

Both Campbell and Swenson are charged with Trafficking a Class B Substance over 200 grams (methamphetamine), Trafficking Cocaine over 200 grams, and various firearm related offenses.
