WPD Crime Gun Unit and ATF Agents Arrest Man for Firearms Offenses

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 5/2/2025 8:59 pm

On May 1st, 2025, WPD officers assigned to the Crime Gun Intelligence Unit were working with federal partners from the ATF.  They had probable cause for the arrest of Ronnie Suriel, twenty-eight-years-old of Mann St, for Carrying a Firearm without a License.  They were conducting surveillance in the area  at about 6 PM when they observed Mr. Suriel walking on Lawnfair St. 

Officers moved in to detain Mr. Suriel, and determined that he had a firearm in a satchel he was carrying. Mr. Suriel does not have a license to carry firearms, and is charged with two counts of Carrying a Firearm without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the station.
