WPD Crime Gun Intelligence Unit Arrests Three After Two Illegal Guns Were Found in Vehicle

On April 4, 2025, at approximately 11:10 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Edward Street for a ShotSpotter activation. Upon arrival, they located eight shell casings. There was no evidence of any victims or property damage. An investigation later determined that nineteen-year-old Miguel Huertas fired the weapon.
On April 24, 2025, detectives received information that Huertas had an active warrant for firearms charges. At 6:45 PM, detectives located Huertas in the rear passenger seat of a vehicle. Huertas and four others were safely ordered from the vehicle. Detectives found two firearms in the backseat where Huertas, twenty-year-old Daylin Davidson and a juvenile were sitting. None of them possess a license to carry.
Huertas is charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License (x2), Carrying a Firearm without a License (x2), Possession of Ammunition with an FID Card (x2), Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Dwelling and a warrant.
Davidson is charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License (x2), Carrying a Firearm without a License (x2) and Possession of Ammunition with an FID Card (x2).
The juvenile is charged Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License (x2), Carrying a Firearm without a License (x2) and Possession of Ammunition with an FID Card (x2).
The Crime Scene Unit recovered the guns.
