FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 4/23/2025 10:08 am
On April 22, 2025, at approximately 9:54 pm, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of Somerset Street for a report of two males wearing dark clothing who were trying to break into cars. On the way, officers were flagged down by a male who said two men dressed in black and wearing masks broke into a car on William Street.
Officers located two men matching the discretion of the caller and witness. They started walking faster upon noticing officers. Officers approached the men and explained why they were stopping them.
Moments later, a vehicle with two witnesses arrived on scene. Both stated that they had observed the men breaking into a vehicle. One of them said he observed the men stealing a Bluetooth from the vehicle. Officers noticed a bulge in the sweatshirt pocket of a juvenile suspect, which turned out to be the speaker. A long screwdriver and a large steak knife were found in his fanny pack. A folding knife was discovered on 18-year-old Tyron Minardi of Worcester.
Minardi and the juvenile are charged with Breaking into a Depository/Safe/Vault, Larceny Under $1200, Possession of a Burglarious Instrument and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon.
The driver was located, and his speaker was returned to him.
