Worcester Police Deparment

At approximately 12:27pm, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Park Avenue at Parker Street for a pedestrian crash. A preliminary investigation shows two males went to get coffee at a local establishment. Upon returning to their vehicle in a nearby parking lot, a sixty-nine-year-old male entered the vehicle, while an eighty-eight-year-old male waited outside of the vehicle. The operator allegedly accelerated backwards and then forwards, hitting the eighty-eight-year-old. Upon arrival first responders were treating the victim. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. This incident is under investigation by the Worcester Police Department.
