City Conservation Land

Conservation Land Area with Green Trees and Wetland Area in Foreground

The City of Worcester is home to a diverse network of conservation areas that protect forests, wetlands, waterways, wildlife habitat, and other important natural resources. More than 940 acres of conservation land are owned by the City and held under the care and custody of the Conservation Commission for the benefit of current and future generations. Community partners, including the Greater Worcester Land Trust (GWLT) and Mass Audubon, also own and steward significant conservation lands throughout the City.

City conservation areas provide opportunities for residents and visitors to explore Worcester's natural landscapes through passive recreation, including walking, wildlife observation, nature study, and environmental education. Each property has its own unique history, ecological features, and recreational opportunities.
