Worcester Police Department

At approximately 12:58 a.m. on September 21, 2026, Worcester Police officers initiated a motor vehicle stop on Main Street for an uninsured vehicle. The male operator, identified as thirty-one-year-old Derry Walker of Worcester, did not have a Massachusetts drivers’ license and further investigation showed he had a warrant. Mr. Walker was told to exit the vehicle and was placed in handcuffs.

Officers conducted an inventory of his vehicle and found a firearm in the center console. It was determined that Mr. Walker did not have a license to carry in Massachusetts. 

Mr. Walker was charged with Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm without a License to Carry, Possession of Ammunition without a License to Carry, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle along with the warrant.
