WPD Gang Unit Arrests Male with Illegal Guns While on Summer Impact Patrol

At approximately 9:21 p.m. on August 9, 2026, members of Worcester Police Department’s Gang Unit assigned to Summer Impact were patrolling the area of Great Brook Valley where gunfire had been confirmed earlier at approximately 4:21 a.m. through a Shot Spotter notification. The officers observed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit near 40 Great Brook Valley and made a motor vehicle stop.
The operator, identified as twenty-one-year-old Liam Nolan of Manchester, New Hampshire, was uncooperative, and removed from the vehicle. Officers discovered gloves and a ski mask in his possession. Two loaded firearms were located under the driver’s seat. An investigation determined that Liam did not have a valid License to Carry.
Nolan was charged with Carrying A Firearm Without a license (x2), Carrying as Loaded Firearm Without a License (x2), Possession of a large Capacity feeding Device (x2), Possession of a Large capacity Firearm (x2), Possession of Ammunition Without FID and Resisting Arrest.
