WPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on June 10, 2026, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a call of a truck that hit a pedestrian in the area of Canterbury and Grand Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim with severe injuries to her head and leg. Officers applied a tourniquet to her leg. Worcester Fire and EMS pronounced her deceased at 10:09 a.m. She has been identified as Van Thi Khanh Doan, 39, of Worcester.
A preliminary investigation shows that Ms. Doan was in the crosswalk crossing Canterbury Street. A tow truck approached the intersection of Canterbury and Grand Streets and turned left, hitting Ms. Doan.
The Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating this incident and will determine if the operator will be charged.
