Worcester Police Department, Surrounding Departments and Massachusetts State Police Deter Several Street Takeovers

The Worcester Police Department reports deterring several planned street takeovers this weekend. Before the event, the Worcester Police Department developed a comprehensive operational plan and worked closely with our local and state law enforcement partners.
As a result, several areas targeted for takeover such as: 865 Grafton Street, Newton Square, Pullman Street, Lincoln Street, Madison Street and Park Avenue near Chandler Street were prevented. The operation resulted in 12 arrests and 19 traffic citations/warnings being issued in Worcester.
The Worcester Police Department appreciates the support of the community, the Massachusetts State Police and our police departments in the communities surrounding the City of Worcester. Street Takeovers are dangerous and unpredictable. Please stay vigilant.
