WPD Officers Arrest Male on Several Gun Charges

On March 9, 2026, at approximately 1:39 p.m., Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a grocery store on Southbridge Street for a report of a person with a gun. A witness told officers that he observed a male with a firearm tucked in his waistband. He called police since the firearm was not in a holster. The male was also running around the parking lot, running in and out of stores.
A male matching the description of the suspect was later found by other officers on Boys and Girls Club Way. A firearm was wound inside of his pants. He was found to have a suspended license to carry.
Twenty-seven-year-old Alex Marrero of Fitchburg is charged with Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card, Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card and Disorderly Conduct.
