WPD Detectives Arrest Male in Connection with Fatal Stabbing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 1/16/2026 9:33 am

On January 15, 2026, at approximately 8:30 PM, the victim of a stabbing was located in the area of 544 Main Street. At this time, the victim, suffering stab wounds to the torso area, flagged down a passerby for assistance. The passerby was able to call the police and Worcester EMS. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased a short time later.

A second individual, 40-year-old Tailor Albert Quinonez, was also located near 544 Main Street. Mr. Quinonez had a wound to his forehead as well as a laceration on his hand. After interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence, WPD Detectives placed Quinonez under arrest for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Armed Assault with Intent to Murder.
