Two Juveniles Arrested After Failing to Stop for Officers

At approximately 10:20 a.m. on January 12, 2026, two vehicles failed to stop for officers on Jones Street. 

 The operator of one of the vehicles drove on the opposite side of the road, causing a motorist to swerve out of the way. He then drove the wrong way down a one-way street. The operator crashed into another vehicle, causing the suspect’s vehicle to flip on its side. A 14-year-old male was arrested and charged with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failing to Strop for a Stop Sign/Red Light (x2), and Operating the Wrong way on a One-way Street. No serious injuries were reported.

 The operator of the second vehicle drove into the woods on Loxwood Street and then ran from the vehicle.  The driver ran into oncoming traffic almost causing several crashes before officers placed him under arrest. Further investigation showed this vehicle was reported stolen. The 15-year-old male is charged with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct and Use of a Motor Vehicle without Authority.
