Applying for an Absentee Ballot

The Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) is the primary form for requesting registration and/or an absentee ballot from your local election official. To request an absentee ballot, the local election official must receive your FPCA or any other form of written communication with your name, date of birth, former residence and present residence not later than noon the day before the election.

Read all instructions on the FPCA before completing and signing your application. You can complete the Federal Post Card Application on-line at the Federal Voting Assistance Program’s website at www.fvap.gov.
