The Office of the City Clerk maintains the records of Marriage. Town records are available for the years 1686 through 1847. City records begin in 1848 and continue to the present day. The City Clerk certifies copies of these records upon request and payment of a fee.

To amend or correct a birth, death or marriage certificate, you have to contact the Clerk's office at 508-799-1121 or firstname.lastname@example.org. A representative will give you information on the necessary evidence or paperwork you need to request a record correction. You must schedule an appointment with the Clerk's office to amend any vital records.
To correct a mistake on a birth, death or marriage record you will need to show evidence that the information was incorrect at or near the time of the event. In most cases, vital records list only what was true at the time of the birth, marriage or death, and updates are not made for changes that happened later. For example, you cannot change your birth record solely for a legal change of name.
You may search the Marriage Record database for any marriage that took place on an Intention of Marriage filed at Worcester City Hall between January 1, 1978 and May 25, 2022 by entering the last name and first name of the individual.
If the marriage record is not available online please contact the Office of the City Clerk for assistance.
