Worcester to Host 2025 Arbor Day Celebration

WORCESTER, Mass. – The City of Worcester Department of Public Works & Parks (DPW&P) is hosting an Arbor Day celebration on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Elm Park.

The City of Worcester will celebrate its 39th consecutive Tree City USA designation. The municipality has also been awarded a Tree City USA Growth Award for the 26th consecutive year.

The event will include the planting of two American Elm trees and one London Plane tree. In addition, DPW&P, in partnership with the Department of Sustainability and Resilience, is scheduled to plant 300 to 400 trees throughout the city this spring with a priority in Environmental Justice Neighborhoods.

The Arbor Day celebration is coordinated in partnership with the City of Worcester Urban Forestry Tree Commission, New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Urban and Community Forestry Program, the United States Department of Agriculture, the Green Worcester Advisory Committee, the Greater Worcester Land Trust, and National Grid.
