Worcester Announces Free Street Parking for 508 Day

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 5/7/2025 4:38 pm

WORCESTER, Mass. – In honor of 508 Day and National Small Business Week, the City of Worcester is offering free parking on Thursday, May 8, 2025, to help support the local business economy.

On Thursday, parking will be free at all on-street metered spots throughout the city in addition to the municipal surface lots on Green Street, Water Street, and Millbury Street. Municipal garages will be subject to regular rates.

“508 Day is a fun day of pride where we celebrate all things Worcester,” said City Manager Eric D. Batista. “We want to use this day as a catalyst to spark some support for our local economy and are offering free parking all throughout the city to encourage folks to get out and shop our small businesses. These retailers, restaurants, and businesses are the backbone of our community, and we want to make sure we’re supporting them and celebrating what makes this great city tick.”
