Worcester Announces 2025 Trash and Recycling Calendar

WORCESTER, Mass. – The City of Worcester announced Monday the trash and recycling calendar for the 2025 year. Whenever a scheduled collection day falls on a holiday, that day's collection and all remaining collections for the week will be delayed one day, as noted below.
The 2025 trash and recycling calendar includes seven holidays that result in a day delay for collection:
- New Year’s Day – Jan. 1
- Memorial Day – May 26
- Juneteenth – June 19
- Independence Day – July 4
- Labor Day – Sept. 1
- Thanksgiving Day – Nov. 27
- Christmas Day – Dec. 25
Holidays that will not result in a day delay:
- MLK, Jr. Day – Jan. 20
- Presidents’ Day – Feb. 17
- Patriots’ Day – April 21
- Columbus/Indigenous Peoples’ Day – Oct. 13
- Veterans Day – Nov. 11
Residents are advised to set recyclables and trash at the curb between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on your scheduled trash/recycling day.
Reminder that Worcester residents may dispose of Christmas trees at any of the drop-off sites listed below. The sites will be open from Dec. 26, 2024, through Jan. 12, 2025* during the following days and times, weather permitting:
- Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Saturdays: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sundays (Millbury St. location only): 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Drop-off sites:
- 1065 Millbury Street (next to the VFW Post)
- 300 Chandler Street (in the parking lot across from Foley Stadium)
- 299 Clark Street (near the East Mountain St. intersection)
*Sites will be closed for the New Year’s Day holiday on Wed., Jan. 1, 2025.
