Traffic Advisory: Harrison Street Sewer Bypass

WORCESTER, Mass. – Starting Monday, June 15, new permanent sewer/drainage line will be installed across the Harrison Street bridge. The street will be closed to vehicles from 7 a.m. on June 15 through 7 p.m. on Friday, June 26 to accommodate the work. Please adhere to detour signage. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
This is a multi-step process involving trenching, pipe installation, and precast concrete structure installation, with temporary bypass pumping during the work. The logistics of the actual work plan have been reviewed and approved by the Department of Public Works.
The actual construction work will be limited to daytime hours but the bypass pumps will be operating 24 hours a day with a worker on standby to monitor.
