WORCESTER, Mass. – This past week has been extremely difficult for our community. As a municipality, not only did we lose one of our own, but members of our Worcester Police Department also had to work around the clock to bring this search to a conclusion. I want to thank them for their dedication and professionalism under unthinkable circumstances. I hope now that the search is over, they can take the time they need to grieve. I also want to thank the various federal, state, and municipal agencies that assisted with the search efforts. 

Patrolman Kurt Solomon was a valued member of the City community and a staple at City Hall. He lived a life of service and his 31 years with the department made a positive impact on Worcester that will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family. May his memory be a blessing.
