PSA: Temporary Construction Schedule in Effect on Worcester MBTA Line

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 7/22/2026 11:44 am

WORCESTER, Mass. – A temporary construction schedule will be in effect on the Worcester Line beginning Monday, July 27. The changes will allow crews to complete necessary track work, which will result in more reliable service moving forward.

Temporary schedule adjustments: 

  • Four off-peak inbound trains are temporarily removed from the schedule, with service operating roughly every two hours between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.:

Inbound trains 530 (9:05 a.m.), 538 (11 a.m.), 546 (1:05 p.m.), and 554 (3 p.m.)

  • Four off-peak outbound trains are temporarily removed from the schedule between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., with service operating roughly every two hours:

Outbound trains 519 (7:30 a.m.), 525 (8:55 a.m.), 533 (10:50 a.m.), and 541 (12:55 p.m.)

  • Several midday trips in both directions have 5 minutes added to their scheduled run times.
  • Inbound and outbound rush hour service is not affected.
  • Changes will be in effect until September.
