Declared Winter Parking Ban Lifted as of 7 a.m. Wednesday

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 12/2/2025 7:22 pm

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Declared Winter Parking Ban for the City of Worcester will be lifted at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025.

Residents who parked in municipal garages during the ban have until 4 p.m. to exit without charge. Regular rates will apply for vehicles entering municipal garages after 7 a.m.

A Permanent Winter Parking Ban remains in effect through April 30, 2025, on Emergency Arteries, Worcester Regional Transit Authority Bus Routes, and streets that are critical to the flow of traffic. There is no parking on one or both sides of these streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. and anytime a snow emergency is declared.

Trash and recycling collection will not be impacted. Fall leaf collection will remain delayed.

Residents and business owners are reminded to clear and treat sidewalks in front of their property within 10 hours after any winter storm in accordance with the municipality’s Sidewalk Snow Removal Ordinance.

Under this ordinance, owners and occupants of any residential or business property are required to clear and treat sidewalks adjacent to their property within 10 hours after snow ceases to fall. Snow and ice must be removed to a width of no less than 4 feet for the entire distance of said sidewalks. Crosswalk ramps that abut properties must be cleared as well. Residents who do not comply with this ordinance are subject to a $75 fine.
