On January 18th 2022 at about 9:13 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of Perry Ave for a ShotSpotter activation. Upon arrival, officers encountered a male gunshot victim and a heavily damaged vehicle. Officers rendered medical aid and the victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The victim’s injuries are serious but not expected to be life-threatening. Officers located a second injured male inside an area residence. This male suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
The initial investigation revealed that both males were sitting in a vehicle when shots were fired into the vehicle. They were involved in a motor vehicle accident shortly after the shooting, and left the vehicle. Officers received information that a male passing by entered the vehicle and stole money after the two victims fled. Officers stopped a male, identified as Danny Lloyd, thirty-six-years-old from Charlton, and developed probable cause that Mr. Lloyd had stolen money from the vehicle. Mr. Lloyd was placed under arrest and is charged with Larceny over $1200.
